I've seen this little project floating around the internet for a while and finally took the time to make some fridge magnet VASES for myself. Friends! If you need a quick DIY creative fix, this project is for you. I hesitated even making a blog post about it because there is no need for a tutorial whatsoever, but I wanted to post a few pictures to inspire you to make some for yourself and also have a spot to share any supplies you might need.

I will share sources for a few mini vase options to make the MAGNETS with, but you know I needed the challenge of trying to thrift some. It took a while, but I finally found a great variety to create with! You'll see from the pictures that I have a mish-mash collection of mini vases. If you're a little too OCD to handle things that aren't all the same, no worries...buying the VASES new won't break the bank.

Don't want to take the time to make these little magnets for yourself? I've rounded up a bunch of fridge magnet vases that are ready to go!

As goes most of my DIY projects, crafting or otherwise, I'm a learn as I go girl. I do the R+D so you don't have to. I initially made the FRIDGE MAGNET VASES using my trusty hot glue gun. For whatever reason, the glue ended up peeling off several of the VASES I made. I lost one completely when it tumbled to the floor after we had gone to bed. The handle broke into several pieces and I don't think it was fixable. It's all good, though...this is how we learn and get better. I have pulled all the MAGNETS off the vases and am using my trusty E6000 to adhere them. This will take longer to cure than hot glue, but should end up holding better.

These little vases are fun because you can use them for the tiniest blooms, to water root small plant cuttings, to house an air plant, or even a spot for fun dried florals. I decided to showcase a few delicate cuttings from our outside plants and flowers...I love that I'm able to bring some of those blooms in that I wouldn't normally put in a larger vase.

Okay, honestly...I cannot pretend at all that this is a DIY tutorial post at all. Normally I would list out the steps for the project...but there just really aren't "steps." All you have to do is glue the MAGNETS onto the tiny vessels. The longest part of this project will be letting the glue cure. Then, fill each one with a bit of water (if you're using fresh blooms) and stick in your flowers.

I found the mugs and tiny terra cotta pot at a garage sale and instantly knew they'd be perfect for the fridge MAGNET vases. I started thinking what else could be cute and there really are so many things! You could make the magnet vases out of small test tubes, thimbles, small spice containers, old tobacco tins, or shot glasses. Depending on how heavy the objects are, you may need to add multiple or stronger magnets. I stacked two magnets together for mine, just to make sure they held well. They are working great...now that I've found the right GLUE to use.

The magnet vases are such a fun and whimsical addition to our fridge. You can customize them to any space or taste. This would be fun project to make with friends or even to gift. I love anything creative that doesn't take a lot of time. Sometimes we need these little creative breaks and moments to let our minds wander, doing something a bit frivolous.

If you love the idea of these fridge magnet vases, but would rather just buy them, I've found several different options for you to choose from!

I'm so happy I finally found the right vessels to make the fridge magnet vases. What a fun pop when I go to open the fridge...maybe they'll inspire me to be more creative with our meals! If you decide to make some for yourself, I hope you'll share it on Instagram and tag me @hilaryprall so I can see!
