Recently, the hubs and I had a little road-tripping adventure to pick up my new Rustopia Consulting candles from Milkhouse Candle Company in Osage, Iowa.I’ve been using their Welcome Home candle as a gift to my clients for the last year and somewhere along the way, I decided I wanted my own logo on the candle. Since I’m all about chasing my daydream around here…I reached out to them to see if it was possible. A few e-mails and phone calls later, I now have my own custom candles! Bonus…I’m supporting a small business in my own state!
Not only were the ladies who make this business run the sweetest and most welcoming folks, they totally let us have a Mr. Rogers moment with a behind-the-scenes tour of the production center! Thanks to Sheila, Heather, and Val, we got to smell all the smells and learn how they make each of the Milkhouse products!
From the production list, rolls of labels, to shelves upon shelves of different sized jars…the whole place is a feast for the eyes. Now I know it’s easy to grab candles from the end cap at Target, but magic happens when you buy from a small business like Milkhouse Candles.
